Keep Up to Date on How Funds are Used
Help for Tani
10-4-24
Tani is a very sweet cat that suddenly became aggressive. Her behavioral shift was sudden and concerning, and a clear indicator that she was in some sort of medical distress. Tani's family didn't have much money to get her checked out at the vet, due to losing their home at the beginning of summer. Missy's HEART was able to provide funding for over 70% of Tani's diagnostics and treatment. Tani was hospitalized and returned home feeling much better!
Help for Grayson
8-24-24
Grayson's family recently lost everything in a house fire. That tragic event is bad enough, but Grayson started showing symptoms of a potential gastrointestinal blockage. Blockages are usually fatal for animals if not treated quickly. One of the goals of Missy's HEART is to provide assistance so that people in crisis don't have to make the choice between their lives and the lives of their pets. Thankfully, we were able to pay the majority of the cost and Grayson should make a full recovery!
Forever Home for Buster
8-19-24
Buster was surrendered as a tiny kitten after a concerned member of the public saw someone dump him off at the local grocery store. He was far too young to survive on his own. Luckily, he quickly found his forever home with Daeton.
Forever Home for Pepsi, Cheerio, and Ducky
8-14-24
These three kittens were surrendered at a very young age just like Moo and her siblings. Due to their feisty nature, and how close these siblings were to each other, they were adopted together to live as barn cats on a local farm once they were old enough and strong enough to handle themselves outdoors.
Forever Home for Moo
7-30-24
Moo was surrendered alongside her three siblings after being found as tiny strays. We are unsure if their mother abandoned them or was made unable to care for them due to capture, injury, or death. Moo quickly found a forever home with her new owner Brandi. Her siblings are still available for adoption!
Forever Home for Patrick
7-23-24
Patrick was originally found as a very young kitten (about 2-3 weeks old) on the side of the road alone. He had swimmers syndrome in his back legs, which prevented him from walking properly - making it likely that his mother abandoned him. With a lot of care and proper nutrition, Patrick regained the use of his hind legs and is now a happy, athletic boy! He was adopted by Jessica and her children.
Forever Home for Sylvester and Tweety
07-10-24
Sylvester and Tweety (originally called Q-Tip and Layla by staff) were surrendered after being found wandering together. Tweety had a broken pelvis - likely from a vehicular impact - which affected her mobility. After some time, Tweety's pelvis healed and she and her brother were adopted together by Glenn and Robyn!
Forever Home for Peg
06-12-24
Peg was originally found and surrendered with a deformed front leg. He had a previous injury that had healed incorrectly and caused his leg to be misshapen. However, his peg-leg did not stop him from being playful and rambunctious! When he wanted to play, he would stand up on his hind legs and use his peg-leg to box like a pro-fighter. He has now found his forever home with Sage, who says he loves to sleep in the sink!
Forever Home for Squirt
05-28-24
Squirt was found when he was less than a week old. He fell out of some farming equipment, and there was no sign of his mother or siblings. He was bottle-raised by staff members at Coffey's Veterinary Center around the clock for four weeks until he was old enough for his first "big boy" meal (picture included). He has now found his forever home with Addie.
Forever Home for Julius
04-29-24
He was found in skin-and-bones condition in a church parking lot. He was extremely vocal and affectionate, and he was eager to be rescued. Once he was a healthy weight, he needed a forever-cuddle-buddy. He was recently adopted by Kimberly and now enjoys sleeping in the bed with his new best friend!
Forever Home for Ruby
04-29-24
Ruby was well cared for and had no special needs of her own. However, her owner's illness caused her to need a new home. She was surrendered from the home of an organ transplant recipient. This sweet, vocal girl was adopted by Dylan and Mia. She now enjoys spending time with her dog and cat siblings and lays on her new mom's lap while she works!
Forever Home for Roxie
04-29-24
Roxie is a sweet, energetic girl who was abandoned when her owners did not come to pick her up after boarding her at the vet office. For a few months, she helped save lives at the vet office as an on-call doggie blood donor while she waited to find her forever home. She was adopted by Alan and Anne, and despite some recent growing pains, she has been a great addition to their family!
